Annual meetings of Board of Governors of Islamic Development Bank conclude in Jeddah

JEDDAH, 26th June, 2014 (WAM)--The 39th annual session of Board of Governors of Islamic Development Bank (IDP) concluded today with a hopeful note in Jeddah. The event was attended by 56 Muslim states.

It issued a number of resolutions in a communique, notably, the 10-year proposed strategy of the IDP.

The Board approved the re-appointment of Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, Chairman of the IDP for five years in office. It expressed satisfaction about the achievements of the IDP Group. The Board of Governors called for setting up a detailed plan to implement the strategy.

It urges the member states to pay their contributions to Al Aqsa and Jerusalem Funds to back the Palestinian issue.

Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, Chairman of the IDP praised the resolutions issued by the Board of Governors of IDP, which he said would further contribute to strengthening the existing cooperation among the member states to serve interests of Muslim states.

The Board of Governors thanked the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Government of Saudi Arab and Saudi people for good hospitality and success of the meetings.
