Randy Newman, Jo Dee Messina, Danny Aiello top State Theatre's 2014-15 season

June 26--Singer-songwriter Randy Newman, country singer Jo Dee Messina and actor/singer Danny Aiello highlight the 2014-15 season of The State Theatre in Easton, officials announced Wednesday.

The 47 shows also include top comedians and a lineup of Broadway and stage performances.

Tickets will go on sale for theater members at 6 a.m.Aug. 5 at the box office at 453 Northampton St., and at noon Aug. 5 at http://www.statetheatre.org and 800-999-STATE.

Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m.Aug. 19.

Newman, a six-time Grammy Award-winning arranger, composer and pianist, wrote and performed the soundtracks for the "Toy Story" movies, "Cars" and others. His show is set for 7:30 p.m.Nov. 21.

Messina, who has had six No. 1 country hits including singles "Bye Bye" and "I'm Alright," will perform at 8 p.m.Oct. 11.

Aiello, with his band Joe Geary and The Guys, and guests The Bronx Wanderers, will perform at 8 p.m.April 18. Aiello and his band will sing a variety of numbers, including a tribute to singer Bobby Darin. Tickets are $40 and $45.

The season includes a 7:30 p.m.Sept. 20 show by So Good for the Soul: A Tribute to Motown, in which former members of The Spinners & The Marvelettes perform nearly 30 Motown hits. Tickets will be $25 and $30.

Broadway and stage performances include Hal Holbrook in "Mark Twain Tonight" at 7:30 p.m.Oct. 16 ($30 and $35), "Mama Mia!" at 7:30 p.m.Nov. 5 and 6 ($55 and $60), "Sister Act" at 7:30 p.m.Jan. 30 ($55 and $60) and David Mamet's "A Life in the Theater" at 7 p.m.Feb. 17 ($25 and $30).

Also, "Jekyll & Hyde" at 7:30 p.m.March 25 and 26 ($50 and $55) and "Guys & Dolls" at 7 p.m.April 1, and the comedy "Spank! The Fifty Shades of Gray Parody" at 7:30 p.m.Oct. 14 ($35.50-$45.50).

Comedy shows include Kathleen Madigan at 7:30 p.m.Oct. 17 ($20, $25), Bill Engvall, 5 and 8 p.m.Nov. 22 ($50 and $55), Bobby Collins at 7:30 p.m.March 20 ($30), the World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre at 1 and 4 p.m.April 19 ($20, $10 children) and Nobodies of Comedy, 8 p.m.May 2 ($25).

There also will be an abundance of holiday shows, including David Phelps Christmas at 4 p.m.Nov. 30, with The Gaither Vocal Band ($25-$45); Brian Setzer Orchestra's Christmas Rocks! at 7 p.m.Dec. 2 ($51, $56); and A Viennese Christmas by the Hollywood Concert Orchestra & Soloists at 7:30 p.m.Dec. 4 ($30, $35).

The Jimmy Sturr Christmas Show will be at 3 p.m.Dec. 7 ($29, $39, $10 children); "A Christmas Carol, The Musical" will be at 7:30 p.m.Dec. 11 ($20-$40, $10 children); and Linda Eder's Christmas, with an appearance by the Lehigh Valley Gay Men's Chorus, will be at 8 p.m.Dec. 12 ($40, $45).

Moscow Ballet's The Great Russian Nutcracker will be performed at 3 and 7 p.m.Dec. 13 ($33-$43); The Wizards of Winter: A Trans Siberian Experience will be at 4 p.m.Dec. 14 ($29, $32) and The Holiday Ice Spectacular will be 7:30 p.m.Dec. 19 ($18, $25).
