Muscat: MSM 30 Index ended on a flat note at 6922.62 points, marginally up by 0.02 per cent. MSM Shariah Index closed at 1047.12 points, down by 0.26 per cent.
Al Batnah Power was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Oman Fisheries was the top gainer, up by 3.35 per cent, while Al Jazeera Steel Products was the top loser and closed down by 2.67 per cent.
Altogether 5,124 trades were executed in yesterday's trading session generating a turnover of OMR11.63 million with over 49.60 million shares traded. Out of 48 traded stocks, 7 advanced, 23 declined and 18 were unchanged.
Omani investors were net buyers to the tune of OMR218,000 followed by foreign investors at OMR125,000. GCC and Arab investors, who were net sellers, sold shares amounting to OMR343,000. Financial Sector Index was up by 0.28 per cent at 8419.06 points. National Bank of Oman, HSBC Bank and Bank Sohar increased by 3.01 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 1.19 per cent, respectively. Global Financial Investment, Al Batinah Development and Oman and Emirates declined by 2.16 per cent, 1.90 per cent and 1.67 per cent, respectively.
The Industrial Sector Index was down by 0.34 per cent at 10082.76 points. Oman Fisheries and Raysut Cement increased by 3.33 per cent and 0.50 per cent, respectively.
Al Jazeera Steel Product, Galfar Engineering, National Aluminium and Voltamp Energy declined by 2.67 per cent, 2.04 per cent, 1.82 per cent and 0.48 per cent, respectively.
