Heavy metal band Godsmack bringing back its UPROAR festival to the state fair

June 25--SYRACUSE -- Hard rock fans will be "smacked" again this year at the New York State Fair.

Heavy metal titans Godsmack will headline a day of music when the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar festival roars into the Great New York State Fair grandstand at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22.

Tickets, at $40, $50 and $60, went on sale Friday at the State Fair box office and via the fair's only official online ticket agent, etix.com.

Also appearing on the twin stages of the all-day music event are Skillet, Escape The Fate, Suicide Girls, Redlight King, Three Years Hollow, Sons of Revelry (2013 Uproar "Battle of the Bands" winner), and two more bands to be announced.

Godsmack has sold more than 20 million records worldwide. The band's new single "1000hp" recently debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Rock chart. The band releases its sixth full length album on Aug. 5.

The Uproar Festival debuted at the state fair last year. This year, the Uproar Festival kicks off on Aug. 15 in Detroit.

"This show gives fans of hard rock a way to spend the entire day enjoying the music they love and interacting with their musical heroes," acting New York State Fair director Troy Waffner said in a news release. "We're pleased to welcome Uproar back."

Also at the grandstand, limited tickets remain available for the Saturday, Aug. 30, concert by Jason Aldean with Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr.

As of late last week, tickets remained available for:

-- Brad Paisley with Randy Houser, Charlie Worsham, and Leah Turner, Thursday, Aug. 21.

-- Pitbull, Saturday, Aug. 23.

-- Kid Rock, Monday, Aug. 25

-- Train with The Wallflowers, Tuesday, Aug. 26

-- Carrie Underwood, Wednesday, Aug. 27

n Journey with Cheap Trick, Thursday, Aug. 28

Ticket prices are the same whether tickets are bought online at etix.com, by calling etix.com at 800-514-3849 or in person at the box office. A $3.75 service fee will be charged.
