Central African Republic : EBRB endows 10million into TUNISIA

10m has been invested by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Tunisia, the second of such loan, aimed at providing facility, wchih would aid small enterprises gain access to fund in a market that remains difficult.

The lease unveiled by the EBRD headquarters in London, is one of the outcomes of the visit of the EBRD President, Sir Suma Chakrabarti; in the North African nation with a strong delegation.

He would be talking about Tunisia s economic situation with the host authorities.

The credit to Tunisia s largest leasing company, Tunisie Leasing , will be delivered into two tranches with  3m of the total to be supplied by the international cooperation and the Development Bank of Taiwan.

The money would be utilized from the Tunisie Leasing to finance leases to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises for the acquisition of goods such as office equipment or commercial vehicles and real estate.

The EBRD support for the leasing market in Tunisia is part of the Bank s overall drive towards supporting the country s finance sector and also to reach out to small enterprises that find it hard to access capital.

The leasing market offers a useful alternative source of funding to bank loans for small companies.
