BRIEF: Decatur foreclosures drop

June 25--Decatur foreclosure rates in April were down from the previous year and below both state and national rates, according to a survey released today by CoreLogic.

Decatur-area foreclosures in April were 0.74 percent on outstanding mortgages, down 0.42 percentage points from April 2013.

The April foreclosure rate in Alabama was 0.89 percent, down from 1.24 percent in April 2013. Nationwide, the rate was 1.77 percent, down from a year-ago rate of 2.66 percent.

April mortgage-delinquency rates were up slightly in Decatur, with 4.02 percent of mortgages 90 or more days past due. The delinquency rate in April 2013 was 4.01 percent.

Decatur's delinquency rate compared favorably to the state's rate of 4.72 percent and the national rate of 4.54 percent.
