United Kingdom : BALFOUR BEATTY financial close up on £46 MILLION IRVINE hospital project

Balfour Beatty declared that it has successfully completed the financing for the 46 million NHS Ayrshire & Arran Acute Mental Healthand Community Development project to be situated alongside the Ayrshire Central Hospital site in Irvine.

The project is aimed at offering 206 beds for people requiring a level of care and rehabilitation which can only be rendered by a stay in hospital.

As per the deal, Balfour Beatty will be responsible for funding, designing and building the project, as well operating the concession for 25 years.

It is expected that the construction work will commence in July with the new facility to be operational in summer 2016.

The project is being funded using the Scottish Government s non-profit distributing model and ranks as the fastest of the current tranche to achieve financial close.
