Push to Walk Welcomes New Board Members

June 24, 2014

Riverdale, NJ (PRWEB) June 24, 2014

May 2014, Push to Walk voted in six new board members doubling its size. Over the past few months, the organization has been working to recruit additional board members and after an interview process and visits to Push to Walk the best candidates were chosen. New members help reenergize and bring fresh ideas to the group.

As the organization continues to grow, board expansion becomes a higher priority to oversee operations and policies. In February 2013, board and staff members met for a strategic planning retreat to create a path for the future. The day resulted in the creation of an action plan where board expansion was a high priority. With a few of the founding members' terms ending, the non-profit decided that 2014 was the time to seek out new trustees.

New members of the board include: Ellen Duffy with thirty plus years of municipal finance banking experience, Mariana Lamson of Heartland Payment Systems, Anne Connor with more than thirty years of nursing experience, Victor Barton of Biz Dev Executives, Helene Kennedy of Kennedy Communications, and Ken Bostwick longtime supporter and Lakeland Bank executive. More senior board members include: Bob Snyder of Silex Financial Group, Adam Anderson of Ameriprise Financial Services, Paul Sutor of Plymouth Rock, Eric Segal of Security Business Solutions, Deborah Perelmuter, formerly with Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Susan Aceti client parent and community advocate will all act as mentors for the new members.

"We are so excited to have new people make such a commitment to the cause and be active members on our board. I look forward to seeing what each of them brings to the table and the benefit they will be to Push to Walk's future," says Push to Walk Founder, Cynthia Templeton. "I am sure each of them will gain personal satisfaction and rewards through their work with us."
