Pound Mixed Ahead Of UK Mortgage Approvals

BRUSSELS (Alliance News) - The British Bankers Association is scheduled to release UK mortgage approvals data at 4:30 am ET Tuesday. The number of approvals are expected to decrease to 41,000 in May from 42,173 in April. Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against the other major currencies. While the pound declined against the franc and the euro, it rose against the greenback and the yen.

The pound was quoted at 1.7029 against the greenback, 0.7996 against the euro, 173.57 against the yen and 1.5211 against the franc as of 4:25 am ET.
