FIA Statement on House Vote to Reauthorize the CFTC

WASHINGTON, June 24 -- The Futures Industry Association issued the following news release:

Walt Lukken, President and CEO of FIA, issued a statement today after the House passed H.R. 4413 (https://beta.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-bill/4413?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%224413%22%5D%7D), the Consumer Protection and End User Relief Act.

"As derivatives markets are adapting and responding to major regulatory changes, they need stability and certainty to thrive, and the House Agriculture Committee leadership recognized this as they developed H.R. 4413. I commend Chairman Lucas, Ranking Member Peterson, Subcommittee Chairman Conaway, and Ranking Member Scott for working together in a bipartisan fashion to reauthorize the CFTC and make targeted changes to the Commodity Exchange Act."
