June 23, 2014

Formation of closed Kazakh satellite communication system with the commissioning of KazSat-3 satellite will reduce the volume of import of satellite services by 4 billion tenge ($21,798,365) a year, said chairman of the National Space Agency of Kazakhstan (Kazkosmos) Talgat Musabayev at the Government Hour last week.

"KazSat-2 and KazSat-3 satellites will provide mutual backup, which creates favorable conditions for Kazakh operators' transition to the KazSat satellites. Imports of services will be reduced by more than 4 billion tenge per year," said Musabayev.
