Robi introduces HD-Voice to customers

Dhaka, June 22 (UNB) Robi Axiata Limited has introduced HD-Voice (High definition Voice), the most advanced global standard of voice service, across their 3.5G network in Bangladesh.

GSMA, the association of communication service providers and equipment manufacturers spanning across 220 countries, has also accredited Robi for offering HD-Voice.

Robi is the first mobile operator in Bangladesh to be accredited by GSMA to provide such services in the country, and is among only 109 mobile operators internationally to offer HD-Voice to their customers, said a press release.

HD-Voice uses AMR WB (Adaptive Multirate Wide Band) technology to provide voice clarity and intelligibility, overall an excellent experience for the end-user. Through better noise suppression, the technology offers clear voice communication and reduces listening fatigue leading to a pleasant experience during a call.

Robi 3.5G subscribers will need HD voice capable handset at both ends to take advantage of HD-Voice capability.

Robi Chief Technology Officer AKM Morshed said, "Since we launched our 3.5G network earlier last year our concern was always offering the best possible customer experience."

"The latest introduction of HD-Voice is an initiative on our part to bring-in the most advanced global standard of voice service for our customers' in Bangladesh, which has now been endorsed by GSMA as well. We would be always looking for ways to improve the experience for our customers HD-Voice will definitely set a new standard of service quality in Bangladesh," he added.
