Du opens outlet in Mirdiff City Centre

In line with its efforts to increase its network reach, du launched its second and newest Signature Shop recently in Mirdiff City Centre.

The Signature Shop is designed with customer experience in mind to make transactions quick and convenient. The new outlet was inaugurated by Abdullah Al Shamsi, du's board member, in the presence of other senior executives.

Ideally situated in Mirdiff, the Signature Shop offers du's full range of quad play services mobile, internet, fixed-line and television, for individual and business customers. Customers can access a wide range of facilities at the new store, which has 21 service counters, including five dedicated service offices for business customers, three self-service machines, and a queuing system function. The self-service machines in the new shop allow customers to complete most transactions, such as bill payment and eVoucher recharge purchases, in less than three minutes.


CBD credit cards offer 1.5% interest rate

The Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) is charging a rate of only 1.5 per cent interest per month on credit cards as compared to all other competitors, where rates are typically in excess of three per cent.

"Why should a customer pay double the rate per month when he or she can easily use a CBD credit card and pay less than half the amount," said Murray Sims, general manager of personal banking at CBD. Customers can also take advantage of zero per cent interest on balance transfers to clear their credit card outstandings at other banks.


Carrefour opens 28th store ?in Abu Dhabi

Carrefour, introduced to the Middle East in 1995 by Majid Al Futtaim, has opened its newest supermarket in the UAE in Abu Dhabi in AD 1 Tower, next to Adnec. The latest offering will bring Carrefour Market's total number of stores to 28 in the UAE, and is the second Carrefour market in Abu Dhabi.

"We are excited to be opening our second Carrefour Market in Abu Dhabi and to be able to bring our distinct selection of products to another neighborhood in our nation's capital," said Franck Rouquet, vice president of Carrefour Market UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain.


Samsonite acquires French brand Lipault for 20m

Samsonite International announced that it has completed the acquisition of Lipault, a French luggage brand known for its functional and fashionable designs, in a move that will strategically extend Samsonite's brand portfolio.

"Lipault is a fantastic addition to our growing portfolio of brands," said Tim Parker, chairman and chief executive officer of Samsonite.

Under the terms of the transaction, Samsonite has purchased all of the outstanding shares of capital stock of the Lipault Entities for 20 million in cash.


RAK Ceramics is 'Superbrand' for sixth consecutive year

RAK Ceramics has received the title of 'Superbrand' for the sixth consecutive year.

RAK Ceramics, which is the world's largest ceramics producer, received the prestigious market award from the Superbrand Council, an acclaimed worldwide arbitrator of branding excellence. The citation accompanying the award stated that it was being given on the strength of RAK Ceramics' brand image, the high quality of its products, its sustained market domination, its constantly innovative range and its consistently superior services. Abdallah Massaad, CEO of RAK Ceramics, recieved the award.
