Stonestreet next entry in concert series

June 16, 2014

June 16--After playing music since they were both youngsters, friends and neighbors David Fitzwater and Steve Fish got together about a quarter-century ago to talk music. The musicians, then residents of Boomer where Fish still makes his home, formed Stonestreet, a band that's going strong all these years later.

Along with the co-founders, Stonestreet, which plays Top 40 music from the 1970s through the present as well as some country thrown in for good measure, is made up of Kersey Mata, a singer born and raised in The Philippines who performed in a number of vocal ensemble pop acts as a teen and young adult, including Rhythm & Boyz and Kids No More; Sonya Lea, who won Southern West Virginia Idol and the Colgate Country Showdown talent competitions; and Chris Blaze, a drummer who has traveled the world doing what he loves.

Stonestreet will perform as the latest entry in the Lively Family Amphitheater Concert Series at the amphitheater in Oak Hill on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Kathleen Lively of the amphitheater commission urges everyone to come out to enjoy the concert. Concert-goers are invited to bring their own blankets and/or lawn chairs if they wish, she said.

The concert series is planned and organized by the Lively Family Amphitheater Commission and sponsored by Jim Lively Insurance, C. Adam Toney Discount Tires, Oak Hill Animal Hospital and King Coal Chevrolet.
