BRIEF: Catch the pop rock of singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson

June 20, 2014

By Michael Deeds, The Idaho Statesman

June 20--It's hard not to appreciate Matt Nathanson. He enjoys sharing negative reviews of his concerts left by knuckleheads online. He digs girls who wear Kinks shirts. And his platinum-selling song, "Come On Get Higher," is a bona fide earworm that you'll find yourself humming at random moments. Nathanson, 41, has built an audience slowly but surely since the early 1990s, and the result is a diehard fan base that loves the man and his easygoing pop-rock approach.
