Sudan : DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF GEDARIF STATE receives delegation of ADB for HORN OF AFRICA PROJECT

A delegation of the African Development Bank has been received by Deputy Governor of Gedarif State, Kamil Haroun, for the Horn of Africa Project for Combat of Desertification and Drought, in the presence of the Finance Minister of the state.

It is suggested by Chairman of the delegation, Abdou Kamara, that the delegation's visit aims to view the activities and programmes being carried out by the state's government in fields of combating of desertification and drought, noting that the project is funded by the bank in eight African states. He referred to the allocation of 45 million dollars to the States of Gedarif, Kassala and White Nile to avoid desertification, drought and the impact of floods.

The Deputy Governor welcomed the visit of the delegation and stressed the importance of the project to the state.

At the same time, the visiting delegation held joint meeting with the technicians of the state's Ministries of Animal Resources, Agriculture, Rural Planning and Water Resources to choose projects for execution.
