Investments create nearly 30,000 jobs in France

Dubai: Investors from around the world continue to pour their capital into France, creating thousands of jobs in the country in recent years.

According to the "2013 Report: Job-creating Foreign investment in France", the country attracted 685 new projects last year, up from 693 in 2012. The investments led to the creation or retention of 29,631 jobs, compared to 25,908 in 2012.

The United States emerged as the leading source of outside capital, accounting for 18 per cent of all foreign investments, in 2013. Germany led the list of investors in Europe, followed by Italy. Among the countries registering significant increases in investments in France, United Kingdom led the table, as well as Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden and Austria.
