Airtel introduces 3G services in Rangpur

Dhaka, June 2 (UNB) Private mobile phone operator Airtel Bangladesh Limited has recently launched its 3G services in Rangpur.

Abdur Rahman, Zonal Business Manager of North West Zone of the company, and Muhammed Mozibur Rahman, Zonal Sales Manager, along with other officials were present at the official inauguration of the 3G service.

A coloruful and festive rally was held in the Rangpur the city to celebrate the event, said a press release on Monday.

Areas under the 3G network in Rangpur are Medical Pakar Matha, Kotwali, Rangpur Medical College, Bonani, Dhab MP Check Post, Radha Pallab, Kotki Para, Rangpur Sadar, Kerani Para and Carmichael College.

Delivery of the most superior quality of experience and the expansion of Bangladesh's 3G networks is the prime focus of Airtel.

The company believes that it will create new opportunities and will further develop the city in terms of education and health services.

It has already covered significant areas of the most important cities including Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Comilla, Bogra, Khulna, Rajshahi, Cox's Bazar and now Rangpur.

Chris Tobit, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of Airtel, in his statement said, "With the launch of this new service and faster connectivity the door to innovation is now wide open and there will be greater development in education and health services, among other innovations, as well as a positive change in the economy in Rangpur."

Airtel Bangladesh has already deployed 3G in most of the important regions and cities, he said, adding, "Now we're deploying the same game changing technology in Rangpur."

Airtel has planned to introduce 3G services commercially in all divisional headquarters by mid 2014.

The 3G services of Airtel are designed to enrich the lifestyle of customers in both urban and rural Bangladesh. The services offered are focused heavily on entertainment, infotainment, edutainment, m-commerce, m-health etc.
