June 19--The Niagara Arts and Cultural Center will host the 10th annual "Beyond the Barrel Art Exhibition," opening Saturday and continuing through Aug. 24.

More than 100 works by some 30 regional artists will be featured during the event. The Garden Gallery will spotlight a solo exhibit of art by Violet Gordon while the Niagara Gallery will include a photographic display focusing on the beauty of Niagara USA.

In addition, Susan Geissler, a Niagara area sculptress known as a premier designer of human figures, will present "A Toast to You," a new sculpture she has donated to the NACC. Ms. Geissler also is the creator of the Tuscarora Heroes Monument which was dedicated in the Village of Lewiston in 2013.

A spokesman said all the original art work displayed will be available for sale. Part of the proceeds from items sold through the gallery will benefit the NACC and help provide art programs for the community.

The opening reception is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. and the exhibition hours will be Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
