WB Mission briefed on computerized Arazi Record

World Bank Mission for Punjab: Punjab Regional Development Project was briefed about the progress and working of Arazi Record Centre Lahore city during its visit to the centre here Tuesday.

The Project Management Unit (PMU)-Board of Revenue Punjab, spokesperson said the WB Mission was comprised of Country Director (Pakistan) Mr. Rachid Rachid Benmessaoud, Country Director (India) OnnoRhul, Kamran Akbar and Geetanjali Chaturvedi.

While, the PMU Deputy Project Director Capt Zafar Iqbal briefed them about Computerization of Land Records in Punjab and said that computerized land record services had been commenced in 127 out of 143 tehsils of Punjab through which ‘Fard’ (land ownership document) was issued in 30 minutes and mutation was attested in just 50 minutes. The mission observed the process of service delivery and interacted with customers, who were getting services at the center.

The mission was told that more than 99 percent of the beneficiaries were satisfied with the services and the PMU had achieved all targets in time, agreed with the World Bank.

The WB Mission endorsed the vision of Punjab Chief Minister that the LRMIS (Land Record Management and Information System) would lead to beat corruption and promote transparency as well as facilitate the public.

The Mission expressed their gratitude for the CM’s interest and efforts timely and successful implementation of te project, and appreciated the support and commitment render by Punjab Government especially the PMU staff in this regard.
