‘Plan evolved to provide daily use items at subsidized rates’

Provincial Minister for Food and Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Punjab Bilal Yasin Tuesday said that a plan has been evolved for providing necessary items on subsidized rate to common man in Ramazan bazaars during the month of Ramazan.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of Cabinet Price Control Committee at Civil Secretariat Committee Room here.

The meeting was informed that on the instruction of Punjab Chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, 350 Ramazan Bazaars will be set up throughout the province during the month of Ramazan where stalls would be set up by utility stores and agriculture department. Flour mills, sugar mills and traders and ghee mills association will also provide daily use items at subsidized rate.

The meeting was informed that 10,000 ton sugar would be sold by sugar mills association at the rate of Rs 46 per kg while flour bag of 20 kg will be available for Rs.620 in Ramazan bazaars while at Rs.660 in the market. Chicken meat will be available for Rs.18 per kg less than the open market in Ramazan bazaars while eggs will be available for Rs 12 per dozen less than market rate.

Flour mills, sugar mills and traders, chicken meat traders assured the Minister that they will support the Chief Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif in his efforts of public service during the holy month of Ramazan and will extend benefit to the people during Ramazan.

Provincial Minister for Agriculture, secretaries of Industry, Food, Livestock, Health and Agriculture Departments as well as office-bearers of sugar mills association and poultry association were also present on the occasion.
