Kazakh Parliament ratifies $36mln loan deal with IBRD for improvement of justice system

The Parliament of Kazakhstan has ratified the $36 million loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Kazakh Senate'sCommittee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security said.

The Bank will issue a loan for Kazakhstan in the amount of $36 million in order to finance the project for institutional strengthening of the justice sector. The loan is given for 15 years.

The project will be co-financed by Kazakhstan's state budget which will allocate $23.9 million.

The project goal is to improve the legal system of Kazakhstan through strengthening service quality and efficiency of the Ministry of Justice and professionalism of judges.
