Kyrgyzstan to import up to 600 million kWh of electricity from Tajikistan

The Electric Stations JSC signed the agreement with Tajikistan's energy holding Barki Tochik on import of up to 600 million kWh of electricity from May to September at 2 cents for 1 kWh, the Electric Stations said on its website.

The payments will be made on monthly delivery within 30 banking days.

Kyrgyzstan needs to import electricity to keep water in the Toktogul dam for generation of electricity, Electric Stations explained.
