France : BOUYGUES plans to boost download transmission speeds over fibre-optic network

A French mobile phone, Internet service provider and IPTV company, Bouygues Telecom has revealed plans to boost the maximum download transmission speeds over its fibre-optic network to 400Mbps as of 26 June.

However, the operator will maintain its current upload speeds of 50Mbps.

At present Orange France provides a fibre-optic connection with maximum down/uplink speeds of 500Mbps/200Mbps, while both SFR and Iliad (Free) offer their subscribers with lightning fast 1Gbps fibre-optic connections.
