Tokyo stocks decline on profit-taking after rallies

Tokyo stocks declined Monday, with the Nikkei stock index hitting a two-week low, as investors cashed in on gains following their rallies on Friday.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 164.55 points, or 1.09 percent, from Friday at 14,933.29. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 9.29 points, or 0.75 percent, lower at 1,234.68.

Major decliners included real estate, mining and rubber products shares.
