Shoney's of Knoxville Inc. will offer dads a free slice of strawberry pie today for Father's Day with the purchase of a meal. A "dad sized" dinner buffet will be served beginning at noon featuring barbecue ribs, steak, shrimp, fried chicken, and more. Visit to find a restaurant near you.

Cupcake and tie craft for dad: This free event starts after 11 a.m. today at Barnes and Noble and will be offered while supplies last. Also, be sure to sign up for the The Physics of Toys Workshop at 3 p.m.June 27. Learn the cool aspects of physics by building your own race car, suitable for ages seven and up. The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture hosts a 10-11 a.m. Stroller Tour Monday, June 16. This tour's topic is Native American Food and Cooking. The museum is at 1327 Circle Park Drive on the University of Tennessee campus. Its free stroller tours are for babies and young children and their caregivers. The Nikon Small World exhibit of award-winning photographs taken using a microscope's lens goes on exhibit June 13 at the American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge. The 20 photos will be shown through Sept. 14. The annual competition asks scientists and photographers to submit photos of materials visible under a microscope.

AMSE is at 300 South Tulane Ave. in Oak Ridge and open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens age 65 and older and $3 for students age 6 to 17. Children 5 and under are free.

Starting Monday, June 16, Michaels is hosting their "Passport to Imagination Museum Road Trip," which features summer in-store kids' crafts from 10 a.m.-noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost is $2 per day, per child. Register at
