June 15, 2014

Daily Times-Call, Longmont, Colo.

June 15--Saturday marked the The fourth annual G'Knight Ride, presented by Bicycle Longmont and sponsored by Oskar Blues, and it went off as scheduled with a flurry of spinning wheels and pounding quadriceps.

Billed as a "celebration of cycling," G'Knight Ride attracted about 3,000 people in 2013, and crowds were robust again this year. The 12-mile ride began and ended at Roosevelt Park, at Longs Peak Avenue and Terry Street in downtown Longmont.

Both one-mile and three-mile rides were featured.

The day-long event also included a kids festival, a "Big Air BMX" show, an expo pavillion and food trucks. Following the ride, live music was on tap at Roosevelt Park, this year headlined by Chicago-based roots rockers the Freddy Jones Band, with Longmont-based Americana jam band Thunk opening.
