Rep. Conyers Introduces Bill to Stop Abusive Student Loan Collection Practices in Bankruptcy Cases

WASHINGTON, June 14 -- Rep. John Conyers Jr., D-Mich., has introduced legislation (H.R. 4835) to "stop abusive student loan collection practices in bankruptcy cases."

The bill was introduced on June 11 and has two co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., and Henry C. Johnson, D-Ga.

The legislation was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
