PGCPS Offers New Electronic Payment Portal for School Meals and Aftercare Programs

UPPER MARLBORO, Md., June 13 -- Prince George's County Public Schools issued the following news release:

Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) Department of Food & Nutrition Services and the Before and After School Extended Learning Program are excited to announce the launch of MySchoolBucks.

MySchooBucks is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, make tuition payments for Before and After School Extended Learning programs, and receive email notifications for low account balances.

To offer new and improved payment services and to move towards accepting electronic methods of payment only, the new payment portal provider will launch in time for the 2014-2015 school year. Effective July 1, the Department of Food & Nutrition Services will no longer accept personal checks.

With MySchoolBucks, payments can be made 24/7 using a Visa, MasterCard, Discover credit card, or debit card. Remaining balances from the 2013-2014 school year will be available for use in the 2014-2015 school year under the new payment portal system.
