Dinosaurs are on the move at the Smoky Hill River Festival.

Artist Juniper "TJ" Tangpuz, of Kansas City, Mo., has created dinosaurs, each having interactive features so they move, though not as realistically as in the movie "Jurassic Park."

"When I was younger, I was fascinated with animals and creatures that lived long ago. I imagined being among those beasts," Tangpuz said.

"I probably would have been dinosaur food," he said jokingly.

Tangpuz and Justin Marable recently created a show at the Sternberg Museum at Fort Hays State University involving dinosaurs. Those creatures were bones and more of what most people think of dinosaurs: hulking skeletons of a bygone era.

"Being inside the natural history museum brought me back to my childhood," he said. "This is where I go to find the art that I'm supposed to build."
