United States : MICROSOFT launches SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2

June 13, 2014

IT giant Microsoft has launched SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 this week.

The company said the SP2 launch goes by the release to manufacturing ("RTM") nomenclatur. That's an outdated Microsoft term that suggests the software is prepared for imaging on hardware by equipment providers -- i.e., a commercial-ready release.

SQL Server 2012 SP2 will come through the Microsoft Update service by July end.

The IT giant is providing SP2 in 32-bit and 64-bit versions for SQL Server 2012, in addition to the Management Studio and Express versions.
