NASA/GRC has a requirement for the following replacement parts for a Schneider Electric Modicon Quantum PLC System. For specifications: Please see attached documents NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Crescent Electric Supply Company, 4800 Van Epps BLVD Suite 103BC, Cleveland, OH 44131-1030. Because only one manufacturer, the OEM, makes the replacement parts. And, the OEM only distributes its parts through regional authorized resellers. Crescent Electric Supplies, Co. is NASA Glenns regional parts supplier, and is the only available vendor for procuring these parts. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the government to purchase these parts as a sole source from Crescent Electric Supplies pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)1 THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE, THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and 13, simplified acquisitions. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 6/17/2014. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
