BRIEF: Mortgage rates rise on strong jobs report

June 12--Average fixed mortgage rates rose this week, following an increase in 10-year Treasury yields and a strong jobs report.

The average interest rate on a 30-year mortgage was 4.20 percent, compared with 4.14 percent last week and 3.98 percent in the same week a year ago, according to Freddie Mac's weekly survey.

The average rate on a 15-year loan also moved up, to 3.31 percent this week. That compared with 3.23 percent last week and 3.10 percent last year.
