June 11--ATHENS -- Video surveillance at the Athens Beverage Store recorded a suspect allegedly using another person's missing credit/debit card, Police Chief Floyd Johnson said.

Linda Tinnon Hughes, 48, 315 Swan Drive, Athens, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with fraudulent use of a debit or credit card.

Johnson said the owner of the credit/debit card reported to the police department on May 29 that he had either lost his wallet or someone stole it in the previous six days.

The victim's bank showed that the card had been used at several businesses in the area. Johnson said the beverage store had video of Hughes allegedly using the card.

Johnson said the investigation is continuing and more charges are possible in the case.

Hughes was released from Limestone County Jail on $2,500 bail.
