Covidien Assigned Patent for Compound Barb Medical Device

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- Covidien, Mansfield, Massachusetts, has been assigned a patent (8,73,389) developed by five co-inventors for a "compound barb medical device and method." The co-inventors are Matthew D. Cohen, Berlin, Connecticut, Nicholas Maiorino, Branford, Connecticut, Timothy D. Kosa, Hamden, Connecticut, Mark S. Buchter, Ansonia, Connecticut, and Michael Primavera, Orange, Connecticut.
