Faces needed for a giant mural

May 9, 2014

An artist is on the look-out for "warriors" to add to a giant mural marking the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn.

Chris Rutterford is aiming to fund the project through crowdsourcing, with people making a donation to become a face in the mural and part of Robert the Bruce's army.

A series of events are being held over the weekend of June 23 and 24 to mark the anniversary of the battle, with re-enactments, history lessons, a clan gathering and live music being staged on the battlefield near Stirling.

The mural will be painted and displayed during the Audience With Bannockburn festival in the Scottish Storytelling Centre on Edinburgh in June, and later exhibited at the Bannockburn heritage centre.

Mr Rutterford is aiming to raise pound(s)7,000 for the project.
