WASHINGTON, May 8 -- Rep. John F. Tierney, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (H.R. 4582) to "amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 to provide for the refinancing of certain Federal student loans."
The bill was introduced on May 6 and has 21 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. George Miller, D-Calif., Joe Courtney, D-Conn., Ruben Hinojosa, D-Texas, Rush D. Holt, D-N.J., Raul M. The legislation was referred to the House Education and the Workforce Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee.
