GP brings Internet-enabled low-cost Symphony D 51i handset

Dhaka, May 7 (UNB) Private mobile phone operator Grameenphone has brought in an Internet-enabled mobile handset at lowest cost in Bangladesh.

The Symphony D51i handset priced Tk 1490 comes with attractive free Data package from Grameenphone.

The handset was unveiled at GP House in the presence of the officials from Grameenphone Ltd and Edison Group (Symphony Mobile) on Wednesday, said a press release.

Erlend Prestgard, Head of Strategy, Hasibul Haque, Head of Product, Grameenphone Ltd and Rezwanul Haque, Director, Edison Group were present at the session.

Symphony D51i is a JAVA supported and EDGE enabled handset with a 2.4 inch QGVA screen, 1.3 mega pixel camera and with the other basic multimedia features.

The customers will get a free trial of 150 MB data with 15 days validity with the handset from Grameenphone. Customers can also buy next 150 MB Data at a discounted rate which is at Tk 15 only (+VAT), for four more times.

Grameenphone has an ambition to provide "Internet for All". The price of internet enabled devices is one of the barriers to the people of Bangladesh to access Internet.

This handset will help many first time Internet users with the power of Data connectivity of Grameenphone.
