Oman : OMAN'S MINISTRY OF HEALTH launched a smartphone app

The Ministry of Health launched a smartphone app designed to remind parents of their children's vaccination schedules by sending a text message and a voice mail.

Director of the Communicable Diseases Surveillance & Control Department, Idris Saleh Al Obaidani, said, "By using this app, you can create a profile by filling the required data such as name, date of birth, address, etc. Options of next follow-up are also included to act as a reminder for parents."

The Ministry of Health, represented by the Communicable Diseases Surveillance & Control Department, recently organized a workshop on how to use Immunisation Follow-up Programme on these gadgets.

Participants included Immunisation Programme Supervisors, heads of Health Education departments from different governorates of the Sultanate and EPI nurses in health establishments.

The app gives full access to all the required information regarding communicable diseases.
