May 05--Fairfield, Northridge and Goshen high school music students will be competing for the gold at this weekend's ISSMA State Concert Finals.
The finals are Friday evening, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, in Indianapolis, a press release from ISSMA said.
The top 16 groups for each contest -- band, orchestra, mixed choir and treble/men's choir -- from the state qualifying events will compete.
Northridge High School's treble choir will perform at 8:22 p.m. and Goshen High School's male choir will perform at 8:58 p.m. Friday at Pike Performing Arts Center.
Awards will be given during a ceremony at 9:40 p.m. Friday night.
On Saturday, Goshen's orchestra will perform at 12:25 p.m. and awards will be given at 1:45 p.m. at Pike High School's main gymnasium.
Fairfield High School's mixed choir will perform at 4:10 p.m., immediately followed by Northridge's mixed choir performing at 4:28 p.m.Goshen's mixed choir will perform at 6:44 p.m. All performances will be at the Pike Performing Arts Center.
Awards will be given at 7:45 p.m Saturday night.
The champion group from each contest will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for one of its students, the press release said.
The public is invited to attend the competition and admission is $5 per person.
