May 05--LIMA -- The Allen County Fair is providing an additional 1,000 track seats for the Toby Keith concert.
Keith will take the stage Aug. 23 after singer Jon Pardi. The show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
In making the announcement, David Grimm, Allen County Fair general manager, said the two sections were originally included in the fairgrounds seating chart, but not offered, until now, because the seats are on the wings of the track seating. He said each section is 500 seats and have good sight lines to the stage.
Grimm said the show has sold almost 8,000 tickets and he expects the show to sell out near 10,500. He said 1,300 tickets remain in the Toby Party Zone Pit area, near the stage, 1,000 track seats and the remainder in the grandstand and bleachers. He said many people originally bought grandstand and bleachers for the good sight lines to the stage. Video screens will help customers get a good view of the concert.
Grimm said this will be the biggest production the Fair has encountered with a new stage rented that can accommodate the additional equipment that the Keith concert requires.
Tickets are available by calling 419-228-7141 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; online at allencofair.com; or in person at the fairgrounds office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Grimm said tickets have been sold to people in 20 states and all around Ohio and eastern Indiana. He says people should arrive early on the day of the show, because the fair may have the biggest day of the year that day.
