Release date- 29052014 - MT BANK -Changes in shareholders structure and name of the Bank.

Pls be informed that on April 30, 2014 Latvian bank with BIC MULTLV2X and its Lithuanian branch with BIC SMPBLT2X has changed name to AS Meridian Trade Bank. New name will be valid in SWIFT from June 7, 2014. All shareholders of the bank are Latvian residents and no one has a qualifying holding in the bank (above 10%). Shares allocation is available on

Management structure of the bank is as follows:

Council: Ilze Pudiste Chairperson of the Council, Goca Tutberidze Deputy Chairperson, Natalija Prohorova member, Andris Dzenis member.

Board of Directors: Svetlana Dzene Chairperson, Members - Sergejs Golubcikovs, Dmitrijs Kozlovs, Ivars Lapins, Maija Treija.

AS Meridian Trade Bank has no relation to OAO SMP Bank - neither any interest in or any influence on decision making at Meridian Trade Bank is available to Russian OAO SMP Bank and/or its shareholders.

Major changes of shareholders structure and management of the bank served bases for unblocking of US dollar accounts of the bank in Frankfurt and New York for all debit/credit transactions by Deutsche Bank upon consultations with OFAC. Leading US law firm Hogan Lovells has commenced representation of the interest of the Bank based on confirmation from OFAC that the last was not treating the bank as a sanctioned person.

We believe the given information clearly indicates that AS Meridian Trade Bank shall not be treated as a sanctioned financial institution.
