May 30--FREDERICKSBURG -- The ever-present roosters in the trees of the live oaks of Luckenbach will be treated to something different June 12, when the Fredericksburg Community Orchestras perform their annual "Bach at Luckenbach, Texas" concert on the famed site.

"Fredericksburg Community Orchestra string ensemble and children's ensembles will perform favorite selections from the season and a variety of fun fiddle tunes," said director Theresa Britt.

The event, which begins at 5 p.m., includes a boxed dinner of pulled pork or barbecue sandwich, cookie and chips -- served by the Feed Lot at Luckenbach.

Tickets are $25 per person, and T-shirts are available for purchase at $15.

Proceeds benefit the nonprofit orchestras, which promote string education and performances in Fredericksburg and the surrounding community.

"We will perform under the beautiful live oaks on that historic stage, and, if it rains, we will move into the dance hall," Britt said. "It's really cool, because we bring the kind of music that isn't normally heard in Luckenbach -- classical music is sort of left out of the scene -- but this is our third year, and it's always been embraced in the past."

The audience will have the chance to hear the Community Orchestra, an ensemble of up to 20 performers comprised of people of all ages, from middle-school to retirement.

In addition, the young musicians in the Suzuki ensemble -- a mixed ensemble of violins, violas and cellos -- will perform.

The orchestras youngest members, the Twinkle Group, also will take to the stage.

"The audience will get to see young people playing fiddle music, which they just love, at an incredibly high level, and we will have an ensemble performing a Bach minuet."

Orchestra members also will perform season highlights.

"There will be a mix of everything," Britt said. "If you like music of any kind, you will love this concert, because there's something for everyone."
