May 29--TUPELO -- North Mississippi musicians are banding together to raise money for those affected by the April 28 tornado.

Tupelo singer-songwriter Paul Thorn is the headliner for Band Together, a benefit concert set for June 5 in Fairpark.

He'll be joined by Aaron Hall, Chris Chew and Keith Sanders, The Red Thangs, Cary Hudson and Jimbo Mathus & Them Durty Crooks.

"This will be a great start to the Elvis Festival," which also starts that night at the BancorpSouth Arena, said organizer Jessica Hollinger. "All of the performers are donating their performance so we can have the least amount of cost."

The concert's admission is "whatever you can donate" -- any level of donation will be accepted, she said.

Thorn most recently performed in Tupelo with Mac McAnally.

North Mississippi Allstars' Chris Chew and Oxford singer Keith Sanders will join Aaron Hall at the concert.

The Red Thangs is a crowd-pleasing indie rock band from Oxford.

Former Blue Mountain member and acclaimed singer-songwriter Cary Hudson will bring his stories and songs to the stage.

Jimbo Mathus, formerly of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, opens the show, and he released his latest album, "Dark Night of the Soul," in February.

The three local food trucks will be at Band Together, and they'll each donate a portion of their proceeds. Beer and drinks will be sold, too.

Band Together T-shirts will also be for sale.

All of the money goes to CREATE's disaster relief fund.
