Skye Bank Shareholders Approve N3.96 Billion Dividend

Shareholders of Skye Bank on Wednesday approved the payment of N3.96 billion as dividend for the year ended December 31, 2013 and this translates to 30 kobo per share.

Speaking at the 8th annual general meeting in Lagos, Chairman of the bank, Olatunde Ayeni, said the dividend payout was in tandem with bank's commitment of delivering value to the shareholders in appreciation of their support at all times.

He assured the shareholders that the bank would not misplace the confidence reposed in the board and management, saying the bank would continue to add value and make their investment in the bank worthwhile.

"In 2014, the board assures shareholders that all efforts would continue toward implementing the bank's plans in the medium term and well into the future. The quest to provide the most efficient customer service, as espoused in the service charter, remains unchanged", he said.

Meanwhile; trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) close on the green side for the second consecutive trading day when equities capitalisation closed at N13.302 trillion after it appreciated by N74.467 billion as against N13.228 trillion recorded on Tuesday; while the All-Share Index gained 225.52 basis points or 0.56 per cent to climbed to 40,286.76 points as against 40,061.24 points recorded on Tuesday.
