May 30--Miami Beach's41st Street will soon have its first Starbucks.

In a joint venture, real estate investors Lyle Stern and Kerry Newman are buying the building currently occupied by Domino's Pizza at 827 W. 41st St., with plans to tear it down and build a new structure whose tenants will include Starbucks, a new Domino's, and a third, as yet unidentified tenant.

The city's Design Review Board has approved the new building. Construction should begin in August or September, with openings expected in February or March, Stern said.

"I'm hoping that this will be the first of many new tenants that help 41st Street become a thriving, busy, active street that provides the immediate neighborhood with the retail establishments it desires," he said.
