BRIEF: Award-winning play staged in NYM

May 29--FOB (Fresh Off the Boat) will be performed at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Perham'sJin Hu Restaurant.

The Minneapolis-based Mu Performing Arts and the Cultural Center in New York Mills will sponsor David Henry Hwang's landmark Obie award-winning play.

Admission includes the performance and dinner. Cost is $5 per person and are available at the Cultural Center in New York Mills, at Jin Hu Restaurant and on-line. Visit the Cultural Center's web page, for tickets.

Learn more about the history of Chinese immigration to the United States at tea time, a free interactive lecture and slide show led by Eliza Rasheed will be held at the Cultural Center on Saturday, at 2 p.m.

The Minnesota Chinese Restaurant Tour is funded by the Arts Tour Minnesota FY2014 grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. FOB follows Mu's successful recent productions of other David Henry Hwang plays including Yellow Face (2010) and his adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song (2009).
