Zimbabwe : ZIMBABWE wins AfDB loan for rehabilitation of water, sewerage systems

Zimbabwe declared that it has won a US$58-million facility from the African Development Bank for rehabilitation of water, sewerage systems and power infrastructure for several local authorities.

According to the country, Indian company Technofab Engineering Ltd-Gammon India Ltd Joint Venture secured contract to begin the rehabilitation of water and sewerage infrastructure in Harare, Mutare, Chegutu, Kwekwe, Masvingo and Chitungwiza.

In addition, Indian firm Angelique International Ltd was secured contract to establish electricity distribution transformers and underground cables, and to rehabilitate existing distribution lines in five regions. China Electric Company Ltd is supposed to start sub-transmission facilities reinforcement at various electricity substations across the country.
