Q1-end China Issued 4.391bn Bankcards

BEIJING, May 27, SinoCast -- The total number of bankcards issued in China hit 4.391 billion by the end of the first quarter of this year and the number of bankcards held per capita hit 3.24, according to the central bank PBC.

The total number of debit cards issued hit 3.977 billion, growing 4.02% over a quarter earlier; the number of credit cards issued hit 414 million, growing 5.83%. The number of bankcards per capita hit 3.24, including 0.30 credit cards per capita.

As of the end of the first quarter of this year, total line of credit (LoC)granted by credit cards hit CNY 4.8 trillion, growing 31.12% over a year earlier; LoC granted by each credit card hit CNY 11,600 per capital and the LoC utilization rate was 39.27%, growing 2.33 percentage points over a year earlier. Loan outstanding overdue over half a year of credit cards hit CNY 28.195 billion, growing 11.92% and accounting for 1.50% of the amount payable, up 0.13 percentage points from the end of the previous quarter.
