Li Ka Shing Foundation to Launch Artificial Mayonnaise

HONGKONG, May 27, SinoCast -- Li Ka Shing Foundation and US high-tech company Hampton Creek, which had successfully invented "artificial eggs", announced they will launch and sell "artificial mayonnaise" at about HKD 23 or USD 2.99 a bottle in Hong Kong within this week, the first area for the launch in Asia.

Solina Chau Hoi Shuen, a director of the foundation, said Li Ka Shing hoped to invest in the research of technologies to produce leathers with stem cells and produce meat with vegetables to help Hong Kong to exceed America by output of leathers and meat. The foundation may announce new projects in a short period.

She added they will introduce the technology to make cookies with artificial eggs to universities in Mainland China and hope to research and develop milk with a longer preservation period.
